J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings novel’s have enchanted readers and scholars alike for years, and the movie adaptations have gained Tolkien a whole new generation of mega fans. The movie trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson and starring Elijah Wood (amongst many, many others) has not only reignited the public’s interest in Middle Earth, but has even improved the fortunes of an entire country, with the New Zealand tourist industry benefiting from a major boost off the back of the movie releases, thanks to some of the most cinematic and memorable movie locations of all time.
