Marvel’s Captain America first appeared in 1941, and was the first superhero from Marvel to appear in a movie (Captain America, 1944), but subsequently vanished from the newsagents shelves again less than 10 years. More recently Captain America has made a number of appearances in other movies and tv series, most notably being portrayed by Chris Evans in a number of Hollywood big budget releases, including this year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
